A supported approach to deeper therapeutic work.
Wellness Warrior Group has partnered with Journey Clinical to provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for eligible clients.
KAP combines psychotherapy with prescribed ketamine as an adjunct. Your WWG KAP provider supports the psychotherapy portion of care, while Journey Clinical's medical team handles eligibility, prescribing, medical treatment planning, and monitoring.
Therapy + medical support
Your WWG therapist provides preparation, psychotherapy, dosing-session support, and integration. Journey Clinical's medical team determines eligibility, prescribes medication, and monitors medical outcomes.
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
KAP is a therapeutic approach in which eligible patients use prescribed ketamine as an adjunct to psychotherapy. The goal is to support therapeutic work while creating an opportunity to explore thoughts, emotions, memories, and perspectives differently.
In the current WWG program, Journey Clinical uses sublingual ketamine lozenges. Medical eligibility and prescribing are handled by Journey Clinical rather than Wellness Warrior Group.
Who determines whether KAP is appropriate?
Eligibility is determined through an evaluation with Journey Clinical's medical team. They review medical and psychiatric history, provide treatment education, and determine whether KAP is medically appropriate.
What can the experience feel like?
The medication's effects may include changes in perception and a feeling of distance from the body. Some people report emotional or visual experiences or a temporary shift away from habitual thought patterns.
Motor and verbal abilities can be reduced during the medication experience. After the effects subside, therapy provides space to process the experience and explore insights that arose.
What to expect, step by step.
KAP includes medical evaluation, preparation, supported dosing, integration, and ongoing medical follow-up.
Initial medical consultation
Meet by Zoom with Journey Clinical's medical team to review your medical and psychiatric history, receive education, and determine eligibility. If eligible, the medical team develops your treatment and monitoring plan and provides prescribing and self-administration instructions.
Preparation session
Meet with your therapist before dosing to review the process, prepare for the experience, and establish intentions for your KAP work.
KAP dosing session
A typical session lasts approximately 2–3 hours. You self-administer the prescribed lozenge in a comfortable reclining position, often with an eye mask and calming music, while your therapist remains present for support.
Integration sessions
Following dosing, you and your therapist explore memories, thoughts, emotions, and insights that emerged and prepare for future treatment when appropriate.
Medical follow-up
Journey Clinical conducts follow-up consultations to monitor outcomes and manage prescription refills when appropriate, based on your treatment plan.
Understanding the different parts of treatment.
KAP includes medical services through Journey Clinical and psychotherapy services through Wellness Warrior Group, so coverage and reimbursement can differ.
Medical services
Journey Clinical medical intake and follow-up services are not covered by insurance through WWG, although they may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.
Psychotherapy services
Preparation and integration sessions may be billed under insurance benefits. Dosing sessions are longer appointments and may only be partially covered. Contact WWG for current pricing and coverage.
Insurance benefits and coverage vary by plan. Confirm your individual benefits and current costs before beginning treatment.
Payment options
We have partnered with Care Credit to make these sessions accessible for everyone.

KAP begins with medical screening.
Ketamine is a prescription medication and is not appropriate for everyone. Medical eligibility, prescribing decisions, medication instructions, and medical monitoring are handled by Journey Clinical's medical team. Your WWG therapist provides psychotherapy support within the collaborative treatment model.
